Sticky staff spotlight: Maryam Munir

I’ve been able to write a range of different content for various audiences and it’s something I love to do.

Meet Maryam Munir, Midweight Editor at Sticky! She shares insights into her background in content marketing and copywriting, her proudest career moment, a typical week at Sticky, and much more.

What do you do at Sticky in one sentence?

I’m all about the copy – I write a range of content for many clients including Canon, Best Western and HSBC.

What gets you out of bed in the morning?

Firstly, a very loud alarm. Then it’s knowing that I’m working with a good group of people in an environment where I’m supported, valued, and motivated.

What’s your background and experience?

After studying NCTJ Journalism at Brunel University I landed my first job as a Content Producer at a small agency outside of London. It was an exciting time – I covered global events in places like Dubai and became an expert on all things related to social media. My second job was as a Content Marketing Copywriter and now I’m enjoying the agency life once again. Throughout my career so far, I’ve been able to write a range of different content for various audiences and it’s something I love to do.

I’ve learned that I have a real passion for UX copywriting, which the team has encouraged, which I’m grateful for.

What is your proudest moment in your career so far?

I think the proudest moment for me so far has been finding my niche and my area of strength. During my time at Sticky, I’ve learned that I have a real passion for UX copywriting, which the team has encouraged, which I’m grateful for.

What is a typical week for you at Sticky?

No two days are ever the same at Sticky, and that’s what I love. One day I’m working on hotel-related content which includes destination guides (if you want staycation tips, I’m your person), other days it’s SEO copy or rewriting blogs for clients like Meta.

What type of projects do you work on?

One of the best things about working at Sticky is the variety of projects. I’m currently writing about a range of topics including broadband and mobile phones, as well as webpage copy for Best Western. I’m also the lead Sticky copywriter on Canon and Cancer Research UK – two very different clients with completely different audiences.
